How to simply change the display options of the folder that it shows an image preview icon

The use of digital cameras grows more popular every day. After taking snapshots, you can download the images and copy them into a folder on your computer. For easier sorting and organizing in a folder, you can view those image files with an image preview icon. A quick way to set this in a folder you are currently viewing is to simply change the display options of the folder. To set an image preview icon, follow the instructions below.

Instructions for Microsoft Windows® XP:

  1. Click on the “Start” button and select “My Computer” (or use the desktop shortcut).
  2. At the main toolbar, click on the “Views” dropdown menu.
  3. You will have five possible options, choose the first one “Thumbnails” as it will make larger preview icons.

Instructions for Microsoft Windows Vista®:

  1. Click on the “Start” button and select “Computer” (or use the desktop shortcut).
  2. At the main toolbar, click on the “Views” dropdown menu.
  3. You will have seven possible options, choose “Extra Large Icons”, “Large Icons” or “Medium Icons” as these options will make larger preview icons.

Instructions for Microsoft Windows® 7:

  1. Click on the “Start” button and select “Computer” (or use the desktop shortcut).
  2. At the main toolbar, click on the “Change your view” dropdown menu.
  3. You will have eight possible options, choose “Extra Large Icons”, “Large Icons” or “Medium Icons” as these will make larger preview icons.
